Marshawn Lynch In Talks With Seahawks About Potential Return

Free agent RB Marshawn Lynch told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt on Monday that his agent has been in talks with the Seahawks about a potential return to Seattle.

Well, it’s almost on that ‘expect the unexpected,'” Lynch said, via ESPN.com. “But just as far as right now, what I do know is, Imma keep it solid. My agent [Doug Hendrickson] has been in talks with Seattle, so like I said, we’ll see what happens. If it works out and I get back up there, it is what it is. And if not, s—, I’m lookin’ good. So I ain’t really trippin’ too much.”

The Seahawks brought Lynch back and out of retirement late last season after dealing with injuries at the running back position.

As of now, the Seahawks have Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, fourth-round pick DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer and two undrafted free agents in Anthony Jones and Patrick Carr on their roster at running back.

Lynch would stand to make a base salary of at least $1.05 million should he play in 2020.

Lynch, 34, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2007. He played three seasons in Buffalo before he was traded to the Seahawks.

Lynch decided to retire after six years with the Seahawks, but later came out of retirement and was traded to the Raiders. Lynch played two seasons for Oakland.

In 2019, Lynch appeared in one regular-season game and rushed for 34 yards on 12 carries (2.8 YPC) and one touchdown.
