NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Packers

Bears

  • Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune believes one of the top offseason goals for the Bears will be to shake up the depth chart at running back.
  • Biggs mentions that G Kyle Long‘s situation is worth keeping an eye on in the coming months, as the Bears could consider approaching him about a restructured contract.
  • While the Bears are clearly looking to upgrade the kicker position, Biggs says veteran Matt Bryant is unlikely to be an option unless they pair him with a punter, he’s probably not going to land in Chicago.
  • Biggs isn’t ruling out the possibility of Adrian Amos re-signing with the Bears, but it could be tough if they retain CB Bryce Callahan

Lions

Lions GM Bob Quinn said at a recent season-ticket holders meeting that “the tight end position is definitely a priority for us” to upgrade this offseason.

“This is a position of need,” Quinn said, via the Detroit Free Press. “We know that.”
  • Vanderbilt announced Wednesday that they’ve hired Lions assistant Devin Fitzsimmons as their new special teams coach.
