NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Packers

Bears

  • Brad Biggs believes newly-signed RB Mike Davis will be the starting running back in 2019.  Davis is making $3 million to Howard’s $2 million.
  • The Bears could look for either Kylie Fitts or Isaiah Irving to take a bigger step forward as the top backup outside linebacker in 2019, as well as potentially play DE Roy Robertson-Harris more at that spot.

Lions

Lions HC Matt Patricia said the team hopes to continue finding players who “want to work hard” and who “want to do it the right way.”

More so than buy-in, it’s about, OK, who are the guys that want to work hard, who are the guys that want to do it the right way, who are the guys that are trying to help us build long-standing success? Who are the guys that want to study the game, work hard at it?” Patricia said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “There’s just a different level of work ethic that some of the guys have that are going to come in and that we’re developing of the fine line of what the NFL really is.”

Packers

After a series of injuries in 2018, Packers WR Geronimo Allison says he’s recovered and ready to go this year.

“I feel confident where I’m at,” Allison told ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. “I’m still able to do the same things I could before the injury. I took the proper time. I was mentally strong during the rehab process. My body is physically strong. I’m still ‘G-Mo.’ I’m 100 percent myself. You see it with ACLs and people come back and they’re not the same. You never know what it is — if they rushed the process or they don’t trust the surgery or trust the ligament — but I can tell you, I’m praying every night for full health and full strength to use my talents for good. I think I’m making a good comeback and I feel confident in myself.”
