Bears

Lions
- According to Mlive.com’s Kyle Meinke, Lions LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin could be the next veteran cut by the team.
- Reeves-Maybin is a good 12 pounds lighter than the next closest linebacker on the roster, which is an issue for HC Matt Patricia’s scheme that emphasizes size.
- Meinke notes that Lions CB Teez Tabor has started training camp off well after being a potential roster cut following a poor 2018 season.
- Meinke adds Lions QB Tom Savage has all but locked up the No. 2 quarterback position.
Packers
Packers DC Mike Pettine told reporters that first-round OLB Rashan Gary has been “solid” up to this point and credited Gary for the effort he’s put forth in practice.
โHeโs been solid. You can tell football is really important to him,โ Pettine said, via Packers.com. โHe doesnโt want to just be good, he wants to be great. Heโs soaking it up. He has a lot to learn from a mental standpoint and technique-wise, but Coach [Matt LaFleur] mentioned it yesterday, the one thing you love about him is his effort. Sometimes we have to slow him down in the walk-thru. Heโs a guy with a great motor. We tell the guys we want to coach you how to play not how hard to play, and the effort is there every play.โ
- Per the Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Pettine called DT Montravius Adams the defense’s most improved player: โWhen I first got here, my opinion of him wasnโt real high. And he knows that.โ
- Packers K Mason Crosby hasn’t had a chance to practice yet while he nurses a calf injury, but he’s losing ground to K Sam Ficken, who has an “NFL leg” per ST coordinator Shawn Mennenga: “Right now, it’s open, and we’ll see who the best man will be.” (Ryan Wood)
Vikings
- Per Chris Tomasson, Vikings CB Holton Hill, who is suspended for eight games to start the 2019 season, might not even make the team according to HC Mike Zimmer.
- Hill again saw little work in team drills, though he is eligible to play during the preseason on the conditions of his suspension.
