NFC North Notes: Bears, Packers, Vikings

Bears

Bears S Adrian Amos, who is in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, says he’s “prepared for all scenarios” including being back in Chicago.

I would like to be back, but the business part of it, it’s complicated sometimes,” Amos said, via Sirius XM NFL Radio. “Things still could happen, but I have to be prepared for all scenarios. I’m not writing anything off and that was the team I was drafted to as well. There could be a chance that I’m back and there could be a chance I’m anywhere. That’s the crazy thing about this situation where my contract’s up so anything could really happen. I’m just sitting back and really waiting to see what happens.

Amos added that the Bears have “been talking back and forth” with his agent about a new deal.

Packers

Jordy Nelson admitted that he “wasn’t happy” with how things ended with the Packers.

“I wasn’t happy. [I was] disappointed,” Nelson said via WTMJ.com. “There’s a small chance you could play your whole career in one place with one coach and one quarterback and one offense…when there’s that opportunity, no one wants to move their family halfway across the country.”

Vikings

  • Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune writes that there have been “no indications” that the Vikings and impending free-agent LB Anthony Barr have re-engaged in contract negotiations.
  • Krammer points out that Barr’s last public comment regarding his future came prior to the Pro Bowl, saying: “I could be anywhere.”
  • Krammer also reiterates Vikings GM Rick Spielman unclear comments back in November when asked if the team wanted to retain Barr: “We’ll always look at ways to keep our players the best we can.”
  • Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that there have been no substantive talks between the Vikings and WR Adam Thielen up to this point.
  • Pelissero adds that the two parties could meet at the Combine and it’s possible they could get an extension done this offseason.
