Cardinals

Cardinals new HC Kliff Kingsbury said Friday he views second-year QB Josh Rosen as a building block for the organization.

โ€œEvery time Iโ€™ve turned on the tape, there is something you like and something you can build with,โ€ Kingsbury said in an interview with Arizona Sport 98.7, via AzCardinals.com.

There has been a lot of speculation about the Cardinals possibly drafting Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall.

โ€œHe needs to understand we are in this together and I want him to know he kind of has the keys to the castle and letโ€™s build this deal as a group,โ€ Kingsbury said. โ€œMake sure he is comfortable with what we are doing, if he doesnโ€™t like something that is going on with this offense or the way Iโ€™m coaching it, letโ€™s talk about it and come up with the best answer. When (the QBs) have that type of ownership, it goes a long way.โ€

Saints

  • Mike Triplett of ESPN writes that Teddy Bridgewater returning to the Saints ia a long shot, but can’t be ruled out completely, given that there will be a limited number of teams in the market for a starting quarterback this offseason.
  • It would be tough for the Saints to carry Drew Brees at $23 million for the 2019 season while also paying out $10 million for Bridgewater as their backup. However, it could give them a future successor to Brees when he’s ready to call it a career.
  • Adam Schefter reports that Penn State assistant coach Phil Galiano is joining the Saints as an assistant special teams coach.
