NFC Notes: 49ers, Falcons, Lions

49ers

49ers owner Jed York mentioned that they’ll have to move on from LB Reuben Foster if the team cannot rely on his conduct off the field.

We’d love Reuben to be on this team,” York said, viaย Matt Maiocco. “And we’d love him to participate for us. But if he’s not doing things off the field that allow us to be able to rely on him — or he’s doing something that we’re not comfortable with off the field and it’s proven that’s what’s going on — I think the guys have said then you’re just going to have to move on.”

York added that Foster is “cognizant” of his status on the team and reiterated that his time with the 49ers could be over if he continues to have off the field issues.

From my conversations with John and [coach] Kyle [Shanahan], I know Reuben is very cognizant of where his position is right now, and his time with theย 49ersย could potentially be over if he continues to do things outside of the team that aren’t what we want him to be a part of,” York said.

Falcons

  • Darren Wolfson reports that LB Reshard Cliett worked out for the Falcons this offseason, but they wanted to wait until after the draft to sign him to a contract.
  • The Vikings stepped up Thursday and signed him to a contract. (NFLTR)

Lions

Lions GM Bob Quinn said this week that while they haven’t opened extension talks with WR Golden Tate, it’s possible this could change during the summer.

โ€œI think all those things in my time here have happened in the summer,โ€ Quinn said, via the Detroit Free Press. โ€œI think our concentration and our focus right now is on the draft. Things that come down the road after that, theyโ€™ll come and go and weโ€™ll talk through it.โ€
