NFC Notes: Bears, Buccaneers, Giants, Lions

  • Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports that ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, who interviewed for the Giants’ GM position on Thursday, is believed to be interested in hiring either Patriots OC Josh McDaniels or Eagles DC Jim Schwartz as head coach if he were to land a GM position.
  • According to Vacchiano, it’s unclear how serious of a candidate Riddick is for the Giants’ position and Dave Gettleman is still considered the favorite at this point.

  • The New York Giants officially ruled out LB B.J. Goodson (ankle) and WR Tavarres King (concussion) for Week 16’s game.
  • The Giants also have S Landon Collins (ankle), DE Jason Pierre-Paul (finger) and S Nat Berhe (hamstring) as questionable.

  • The Detroit Lions officially ruled out C Travis Swanson (concussion) and have G T.J. Lang (foot) listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.
  • Detroit also lists DT Rodney Coe (illness), OT Brian Mihalik (illness) and RT Rick Wagner (ankle) as questionable for Week 16.
