NFC Notes: Cardinals, Falcons, Panthers

Cardinals

Cardinals GM Steve Keim was asked about their plans for the No. 1 overall pick in an interview with Arizona’s Sports 98.7.

“I truly don’t know who we are going to take,” Keim said, via AzCardinals.com.

“We have not been through the process, to meet with our scouts and our coaches,” Keim said. “I haven’t met one college football player yet personally. That is a huge part of this process, to get to know the person, to understand what makes them tick, how passionate they are about the game, to see how they would fit in our culture.

“It’s way too early to consider who is going to be our No. 1 pick. But (the talk) is fun for the league.

Falcons

Falcons HC Dan Quinn said they will discuss the possibility of re-signing veteran QB Matt Schaub this offseason.

“It’s definitely something that we’re going to discuss,” Quinn said, via the Atlantal Journal-Constitution. “He has been behind the scenes a fantastic leader on our team, and he’s performing well, so it’ll definitely be something to discuss.

“There’s lots of tough decisions with players and signings and all that that factor into it, but for sure he’s in the discussion.”

Panthers

  • The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they’ve hired Everette Brown as assistant LBs coach, Ben Jacobs assistant special teams coach, and DL coach Sam Mills III has added game management coach responsibilities.
