NFC South Notes: Buccaneers, Panthers, Saints

Buccaneers

  • According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Buccaneers G Alex Cappa returned to practice after missing the past two seasons with a broken arm. 
  • Buccaneers placed LB Jack Cichy on injured reserve. (NFLTR)
  • Buccaneers promoted TE Jordan Leggett to their active roster
  • Buccaneers signed TE Codey McElroy to their practice squad. 

Panthers

  • Per the Athletic’s Joseph Person, Panthers HC Ron Rivera said the team isn’t worried about RB Christian McCaffrey despite the fact he was limited in practice with a knee injury. 
  • Rivera added Panthers WR Curtis Samuel missed practice with a shoulder injury he picked up when he laid out for a catch last week. (Jourdan Rodrigue)

Saints

  • According to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, several team officials believe Saints QB Teddy Bridgewater could command a deal in the range of $20-$30 million this offseason. 
  • Freeman believes Bridgewater either stays in New Orleans as the successor to QB Drew Brees or signs with a team like the Patriots or Buccaneers this offseason.
