49ers

• Veteran WR Brandon Lloyd has been a consistently productive receiver for the entire offseason. (Matt Barrows)

• WR Josh Gordon is expected to argue that his positive test was due to second-hand smoke. (Adam Schefter)
• Gordon’s results for marijuana would not have triggered positive tests in Major League Baseball, the Olympics and the federal government. (Adam Schefter)

Colts

• The Colts have no plans to give up on RB Vick Ballard, and plan on giving him another opportunity next year. (Stephen Holder)

Cowboys

• Second-round pick DE DeMarcus Lawrence was taken off the field on Tuesday with an ankle injury. Lawrence wasn’t applying any pressure to it, so this could be a concern. (Nick Eatman)
• Jerry Jones mentioned that Lawrence is getting an X-ray on his foot. (Clarence Hill)
• ILB Rolando McClain left Tuesday’s practice due to a stomach virus. (Todd Archer)

Jets

• WR David Nelson (groin) and RB Bilal Powell (hamstring) didn’t finish practice. (Rich Cimini)
• S Dawan Landry had a great practice on Tuesday with first-round pick Calvin Pryor out with a concussion. (Rich Cimini)

Rams

• DE William Hayes, OT Jake Long and C Scott Wells are all making progress in their return from injury. (Nick Wagoner)
