NFL Notes: Aaron Rodgers, 49ers, Rams, Redskins

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers said that he initially thought he tore hisĀ Achilles during Sunday’s win over the Lions.

My initial thought was I popped my Achilles,” Rodgers said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Rodgers added that he still isn’t sure how healthy he’ll be, even with an extra week to heal in time for their playoff game.

Can’t say either way what percentage it will be,” Rodgers said, “but I hope it’s going to be feeling better than it was last weekend.”

Redskins

HC Jay Gruden explainedĀ his thinking for how he handled the Robert Griffin III situation this year to John Keim of ESPNĀ and admitted that “all hell broke loose” during a team meeting.

“I sat down and explained some things: “It came out today, I said this or that and thatā€™s not what I meant.” Ā The big thing was the time where I challenged his fundamentals and didnā€™t like him and all that stuff and there was an issue at a team meeting where something had to be said and unfortunately all hell broke loose. The one thing heā€™s got to understand is that heā€™s the quarterback and Iā€™m the coach and we wonā€™t always agree in what I do as far as taking him out of games, but he has to understand I have his best interest and the teamā€™s best interests at heart. Thatā€™s it.
