NFL Notes: Bills, Jaguars, Redskins & Titans

Bills

The Bills will move Mario Williams back to outside linebacker in Rex Ryan’s new 3-4 defensive scheme.

We all understand that part of the game,” Williams said, via the Buffalo News. “Things change, personnel change, obviously coaches change. We pretty much just take from what we learned from” Schwartz “and kind of keep it going. I mean, that’s the only way you can do it in this league, because it’s pretty much a revolving door.”

Jaguars

  • Michael DiRocco of ESPN mentions that the Jaguars could cut RB Toby Gerhart at any point and not be on the hook for any additional money.
  • DiRocco adds that the Jaguars could cut Gerhart if he doesn’t perform up to expectations during training camp and the preseason. But there’s also the issue that they don’t have fullback on their roster and Gerhart is expected to see time as an H-back this season.
  • DiRocco expects rookie RB T.J. Yeldon to be the starter this season with Storm Johnson or Bernard Pierce being the odd man out.

Redskins

  • Redskins special teams coach Ben Kotwica says he’s intrigued by rookie WR Jamison Crowder as potential punt returner. (Alex Marvez)
  • Kotwica added that he’s also excited about LB Adam Hayward returning and P Tress Way‘s upside. (Alex Marvez)
