NFL Notes: Broncos, Browns, Packers, & Texans

Broncos

Broncos HC Gary Kubiak said he feels that QB Trevor Siemian is making poor passing decisions and is still adjusting to the speed of the NFL.

โ€œHeโ€™s made some poor decisions, athletic decisions,โ€ said Kubiak, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN. โ€œI know that sounds kind of crazy, but itโ€™s just learning that, โ€˜Trevor, That guy can make that play. Youโ€™re not in college anymore. Youโ€™re not going to throw that ball through that guy.โ€™ I think some of the speed of the game factors that heโ€™s beginning to understand a little bit is going to make him better each week.โ€

  • According to Troy Renck, Broncos TE Virgil Green (calf) will miss Week 3, but is hopeful to play the following week.
  • Additionally, Broncos LT Donald Stephenson could be out until Week 5 with his calf injury.

Browns

  • Browns CB Joe Haden is listed as questionable for Sunday with a groin injury, but is traveling with the team to Miami. (Nate Ulrich)

Packers

  • The Packers officially ruled out OLB Clay Matthews (ankle/hamstring) and S Morgan Burnett (groin) for Sundayโ€™s Week 3 game against the Lions.
  • Green Bay also downgraded DT Letroy Guion (knee) and DE/LB Datone Jones (knee) to doubtful for Week 3.

Texans

Texans HC Bill Oโ€™Brien said LT Duane Brown (quadriceps) could return for Week 5 against the Vikings.

โ€œI think heโ€™s closer,โ€ Oโ€™Brien said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. โ€œI donโ€™t think he will play against Tennessee, but I know that thereโ€™s a shot for the next game.โ€

Oโ€™Brien also said that third-round WR Braxton Millerโ€˜s hamstring injury does not appear to be long-term and he will continue to be evaluated as the week progresses.

โ€œI donโ€™t think itโ€™s long term, I really donโ€™t,โ€ Oโ€™Brien said. โ€œHeโ€™s in there right now getting treatment, so we will see how it is this week.โ€œ
