Cowboys

Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith said his knee “feels great” and that he is “gradually” progressing each week.

โ€œIt feels great. It feels great,โ€ Smith said, via Drew Davison of the Star-Telegram. โ€œItโ€™s a blessing to be a part of this team. Iโ€™m just happy to be here.โ€

Smith added that he is gradually progressing each week: “Each week we gradually continue to progress.โ€

Davison writes that the Cowboys are expected to “remain cautious” with Smith during next week’s minicamp and will likely go through two limited practices with one rest day.

Saints

Saints RB Adrian Peterson told reporters on Wednesday that he would like to play until 37 or 38 years old.

Thirty-seven, 38 would be good,” said Peterson, via ESPN.com.ย “It’s a good number. It’s approaching 40. And then I seen 37 up there, so.

A number of his teammates have been impressed with Peterson during offseason workouts and Peterson says he’s appreciative of the support.

“It feels good, just to have that support of your new teammates. For me it’s like confirmation, because I’m always just trying to be the best at what I do,” Peterson said. “It’s a confidence-builder. And that’s what I’m about, putting in the work and showing guys — not necessarily living up to the hype — but showing guys that I’m about business, I’m coming here to really help and put a stamp on the offense as well and contribute.

“You know, to hear guys just kind of pat me on my back, it feels good. You know, I’m 32 years old, so outside the building, in the media, you have a lot of people say this and say that, ’32 over the hill,’ so it feels good to hear the guys that are established see the work that you’re putting in payin’ off.
