NFL Notes: Chargers, Cowboys Lions, Rams & Texans

Chargers

• Ian Rapoport reports that the pectoral injury rookie ILB Denzel Perryman suffered against the Raiders is just a strain, and not a tear as the team feared.
• According to Rapoport, Chargers G Orlando Franklin sustained a “slight” MCL sprain and is considered day-to-day at this point.

Cowboys

• In the midst of the controversy he caused during Sunday’s game against the Giants, Ian Rapoport reports Cowboys DE Greg Hardy was late to practice on Thursday and did not participate.

Lions

• Albert Breer of NFL Media reports there is speculation around the league of potential “large scale changes” coming to the Lions from owner Martha Ford, even after they fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and made other changes to their staff.

Rams

• Rams head coach Jeff Fisher told reporters the team will know more about the extent of LB James Laurinaitis‘ elbow injury as the week progresses. (Nick Wagoner)

•  Texans HC Bill O’Brien said he and GM Rick Smith are “dealing with Ryan Mallett internally,” regarding Mallett missing the team’s flight to Miami last Saturday. (Aaron Wilson)
