NFL Notes: Colin Kaepernick, Tryouts, Bills, Browns, Giants

Colin Kaepernick

• While Harry Edwards, an adviser to free agent QB Colin Kaepernick, mentioned that three teams inquired about him, Mike Florio reports that the truth is no one has inquired about Kaepernick.
• In regards to the comments from Edwards, Florio says that he “seems to be injecting himself into the matter without actually being in the loop.“

Tryouts

• Marion RB Jakhari Gore, the cousin of RB Frank Gore, is trying out for the Colts this weekend. (Zak Keefer)

Bills

• New Bills GM Brandon Beane explained his plans for building the team by saying: “I’m going to build through the draft. … You’re not going to see big flashes in free agency.” Beane says he views free agency as a way to plug holes and “set you up for the draft.” (Mike Rodak)
• Beane made it clear that Tyrod Taylor will be the team’s starting quarterback: “Obviously Tyrod is going to be the starter. … it’s going to be an open competition at every position, not just quarterback.” (Mike Rodak)
• Bills owner Terry Pegula mentioned that Beane will, in fact, have control of the team’s roster: “Brandon (Beane) will have the 53-man roster. He and Sean will collaborate, but Brandon has the final say.“

Browns

The Cleveland Browns announced that 17 players will be trying out for the team during their rookie minicamp. The full list includes:
