NFL Notes: Colts, Packers, Panthers, Patriots & Redskins

Colts

  • According to Jason La Canfora, Colts QB Andrew Luck could have played this weekend had their Week 12 matchup been scheduled for Sunday and not Thursday.
  • However, Luck is clearly on track to play in Week 13.
  • La Canfora expects the Colts re-sign QB Stephen Morris to their practice squad next week.

Packers

  • Adam Caplan reports that Packers starting ILB Blake Martinez is expected to miss multiple games with an MCL sprain.

Panthers

  • David Newton writes that Panthers LT Michael Oher’s future in the NFL becomes the question after he was placed on injured reserve with a concussion last week.
  • Newton mentions that the fact that the Panthers waited weeks in the hope that Oher could return from his concussion seems like an indication that they would like him to return next year.
  • However, his concussion wound up being a lot more serious than anyone anticipated, so they have to see how he progress next year.

Patriots

  • Mike Reiss of ESPN writes that long-time RT Sebastian Vollmer has  likely played his last game for the Patriots, as his contract expires after the season.

Redskins

  • Jason La Canfora reports that NFL teams weighing potential coaching changes have already begun to do due diligence on Redskins OC Sean McVay.
  • According to La Canfora, McVay is viewed as a coaching prodigy of sorts, due to his play-calling, motivational skills and work with QB Kirk Cousins.
