NFL Notes: Cowboys, Dolphins, Jaguars, & Saints

Cowboys

• Todd Archer of ESPN expects the Cowboys’ defensive line to consist of Greg Hardy, Jeremy Mincey, Tyrone Crawford and DeMarcus Lawrence in crunch time passing situations with second-round pick Randy Gregory serving as the team’s No. 5 defensive lineman.
• Archer believes that 2014 seventh-round selection DL Ben Gardner could make an impact at some point in the future.

Dolphins

• According to Armando Salguero, DE Derrick Shelby is likely entering his final season with the Dolphins.

Jaguars

• Jaguars fourth-round pick S James Sample underwent surgery on Friday for fractured right arm that he sustained during Thursday’s OTA practice. (John Oesher)

Saints

• Ian Rapoport reports that Saints OLB Junior Galette is waiting to hear from one more doctor who is currently on vacation regarding his pectoral injury.
• According to Rapoport, this will likely be another week or so before anything is decided.
• As of now, doctors are reportedly split on whether or not Galette should undergo surgery.
