NFL Notes: Dolphins, Falcons, Panthers

Dolphins

  • Dolphins DE Andre Branch (knee) returned to practice on Thursday for the first time in a week. A prior report mentioned that Branch was expected to miss 2-4 weeks with his knee injury.

Falcons

Falcons HC Dan Quinn said of RB Devonta Freeman‘s Week 5 status: “He’s going to play.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise, considering that Freeman told reporters on Wednesday that he’s “comfortable enough” to play this weekend.

“I’m in-tune with my body and myself, so I know when I can be me,” Freeman said. “Just getting back out there when I’m comfortable enough. I think right now, I’m comfortable enough to get out there. I feel good. I feel explosive. I’m ready to run.”

Panthers

  • Panthers TE Greg Olsen participated during individual drills on Thursday and was able to run routes and catch passes less than four weeks after refracturing his foot. (Joe Person)
  • Olsen told reporters that “it’s not a mystery that I’m not going to play this week.” (Jourdan Rodrigue)
  • However, Olsen said that it’s “not out of the question” he plays against the Redskins next week. (Joe Person)
