NFL Notes: Draft, Jaguars & Rams

Draft

  • Multiple sources tell Matt Miller that USC WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is the most overrated player in college football right now. According to Miller, NFL scouts are concerned about the lack of production from USC receivers in the NFL along with the fact that Smith-Schuster doesn’t have top-end speed to separate from defenders.
  • Miller believes there could be five first-round picks to come from the Alabama defense with DL Jonathan Allen, LB Reuben Foster and CB Marlon Humphrey having the potential to be the best players at their respective positions.
  • Scouts tell Miller that Iowa’s C.J. Beathard and Ole Miss’ Chad Kelly are the top senior quarterbacks in the 2017 class.

Jaguars

Rams

  • Matt Miller reports that the Rams didn’t want to play No. 1 pick Jared Goff behind their offensive line last week, which explains why he was inactive.
  • One source went as far to say that the Rams have “already ruined” Goff with the way they’ve handled him up to this point.
