NFL Notes: Kam Chancellor, 49ers, Browns, & Chargers

Kam Chancellor

49ers

Michael Crabtree said that the 49ers offered him a contract to be back in San Francisco. However, he felt it was better start fresh with a new team.

“A lot of people don’t know that the Niners offered me a contract, I just didn’t take it,” Crabtree said, via Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle. “I wanted a fresh start. It was more money too — the Niners offered me more money than anybody did — but business is business and I wanted to come to a team that really wanted and needed me.”

Browns

  • Field Yates reports that Robert Turbin‘s injury settlement with Seahawks was for five weeks, which suggests he could make his debut for Browns around mid-October.

Chargers

  • Chargers TE John Phillips will have $745,000 of his 2015 salary become fully guaranteed on Sunday, according to Michael Gehlken.
  • Phillips will count $585,000 against the Chargers’ salary cap.
