Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray said he entered the MLB Draft because he “didn’t know” what his NFL Draft grade would be prior to last season.
“The night I got drafted to the A’s — obviously it was a great day of my life — but I’ve been a football player my whole life,” Murray said, via ESPN.com. “I didn’t know how the NFL felt about me before this season because I hadn’t played.”
Murray reiterated that he intends to focus on his NFL career going forward.
“I mean, they can hold out all the hope they want to,” Murray said. “I’m going to play football.”
Eagles’ impending free-agent DE Brandon Graham said he plans to “see what’s out there” when asked about the possibility of entering the open market.
“I don’t know what all goes into it,” Graham said, via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “This is my second rodeo, but the first time it was so quick because I knew I wanted to be back in Philly. … I’m going to see what’s out there.”
Despite saying he wants to examine his free-agent market, Graham said he loves Philadelphia and his “first priority” is negotiating a possible extension.
“I love Philly. People know I love Philly. My first priority is to make sure we can work something out because, obviously, I respect that they drafted me here,” Graham said. “Howie – I was his first guy [he drafted as general manager]. We got unfinished business so, hopefully, we can get it done.”
