NFL Notes: RGIII, Jets, Patriots, Raiders, & Steelers

Robert Griffin III

• According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, Robert Griffin III’s $16.155 million salary for the 2016 season becomes fully guaranteed on March 9.
• If the Redskins were to trade RGIII, his $16.155 million salary would transfer to his next team, which is why it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be moved a trade.
• RGIII would have to pass through waivers if he was released, but once again, it’s doubtful anyone would be willing to claim him and assume his $16.155 million salary next year.

Jets

• Jets DL Sheldon Richardson pleaded not guilty on Monday to resisting arrest and other traffic charges. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

Patriots

• Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston seems to think the Patriots would be interested in possibly signing former Bills’ running back Fred Jackson.

Raiders

• Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News wonders if the Raiders would consider trading LB Sio Moore, who is “competing to be a role player,” according to HC Jack Del Rio.

Steelers

• According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, specifically drafted WR Sammie Coates in the third round to have insurance in case Martavis Bryant had another violation.
