NFL Notes: Scot McCloughan, Colts, Jets, Texans

Scot McCloughan

  • Mike Freeman of B/R reports that former Redskins GM Scot McCloughan is currently negotiating a severance package with his former team.
  • According to Freeman, McCloughan is still held in high regard around the NFL and team officials he’s spoken to believe it’s just a matter of time before McCloughan secures an advisory role or possibly even a high-ranking personnel role with a new team.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Colts are expected to hire former Redskins and Browns personnel man Morocco Brown.

According to Albert Breer, the Colts’ new front office structure consists of:

  • Chris Ballard – GM
  • Ed Dodds & Rex Hogan – Co VPs of player personnel
  • Morocco Brown – College scouting director
  • Kevin Rogers – Pro personnel director

  • The Jets officially signed sixth-round CB Jeremy Clark to a four-year contract on Wednesday.

  • Texans director of player personnel Brian Gaine will continue his role with Houston after interviewing for the Bills’ GM job. (Mark Berman)
