NFL Notes: Tom Brady, 49ers, Chargers, & Rams

Tom Brady

49ers

According to Anquan Boldin, the 49ers will run a faster-tempo offense under new OC Geep Chryst.

“It’s definitely a fast tempo,” said Boldin of Chryst’s offense, via 49ers.com. “We’re trying to get a lot faster than last year as far as getting to the line.”

Chargers

ESPN’s Eric Williams mentions that Chargers first-round RB Melvin Gordon was “as good as advertised” during offseason workouts and has been “better than expected” in the passing game.

When you give him something, you know that you’re on to the next thing. Usually with rookies it takes a little while to get it done,” RBs coach Ollie Wilson said of Gordon. “Now, he’s still working through some of the protection stuff. But for the most part, when we give him something, he’s pretty much got it. So that’s going to help him stay on the field.

Rams

Rams first-round RB Todd Gurley mentioned that he is hoping to participate in the start of training camp.

“That is definitely a goal that I’m shooting for,” Gurley said at the NFL Rookie Symposium, via NFL.com. “Just to be able to get out there and do at least some individual stuff. It’s looking pretty realistic. This month I’ll be in St. Louis rehabbing, so hopefully I can aim for (camp).
