NFL Notes: USC, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Chiefs, & Panthers

USC

• Paul Finebaum of the SEC Network mentioned that he believe the two leading candidates for the USC head coaching job will be Eagles HC Chip Kelly and and Texas A&M HC Kevin Sumlin. (Adam Schefter)
• However, former Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik isn’t buying that Chip Kelly has any interest in leaving the NFL for this job.

Buccaneers

• Buccaneers worked out seven players on Monday including: K Jordan Gay, DB Keon Lyn, P Michael Palardy, P Spencer Roth, DB Robert Steeples, DB Dax Swanson, and DB Jemea Thomas.

Cardinals

• Ed Werder reports that DE Dwight Freeney has $1 million sack incentives in his new one-year contract with the Cardinals.
• According to Werder, Freeney will receive a $200,000 bonus for four sacks and $100,000k for each sack  thereafter up to 12 max.

Chiefs

• Aaron Wilson reports that the Chiefs have signed G Mike Liedtke to their practice squad.

Panthers

• Jonathan Jones reports that Panthers LB Luke Kuechly has been cleared by an independent doctor and is out of the league’s concussion protocol.
