NFL Rumors: Santonio Holmes Returning To Jets?

The New York Jets have made it known that retaining their free agent wide receivers remains their top priority at this point in time. Both Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards are set to test free agency but from Holmes recent comments it seems as though has no intentions of leaving New York.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Holmes apologizes for not having more Jets memorabilia and adds that he’ll change that as soon as re-signs with the team.

“Sorry Jets fans, that not enough Jets stuff is here, but trust me, as soon as I sign back with the Jets, everything will be taken care of,” say Holmes, via the New York Post.

The Jets placed a high restricted free agent tender on him already this offseason but that holds little value until a new CBA is in place. Holmes became the teams top target as soon as he returned from serving his suspension and was very effective for the team. The fact that the Jets have a maturing young quarterback should force them to retain play-makers like Holmes and Edwards.
