NFL Rumors: Titans Not Bringing Moss Back?

In the opinion of Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean, Randy Moss will not be back with the Tennessee Titans for the 2011 season. Wyatt specifically mentions that Titans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer has high hopes Kenny Britt and thinks that he has a good chance of developing into a super-star wide receiver. One of the interesting pieces of info from Wyatt’s update was that Moss had been a surprisingly great teammate for the Titans last season and even helped out with some of the younger receivers.

There has been some speculation that Moss may consider retiring rather than play for a small incentive ladened contact. At 34, Moss is a risk from an ability standpoint as well as a possible distraction which will no doubt have an impact on the number of teams that could be interested him. Teams are getting better at shying away from taking risks on veteran players that play skill positions so I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that Moss decides to call it a career.
