NFL To Allow All Pass Interference Calls & Non-Calls To Be Challenged

On Tuesday, the NFL approved a rule change that will allow all offensive and defensive pass interference call along with non-calls to be challenged.

Coaches will have to challenge a play outside of two minutes, but after that, they’re subject to review.

Saints HC Sean Payton told reporters that the final vote came in 31-1 in favor of the rule change.

It’s clear that the non-call from the NFC Championship game had a major influence on this rule change.

All 32 NFL coaches came out in favor of the rule change at the owner’s meeting this week and while there was some concern that owners may not agree with the rule change, it appears as though the coaches were convincing enough in the end to get the specifics of this new rule worked out.
