Nnamdi Asomugha Will Retire As A Raider On Friday

The Oakland Raiders announced that former CB Nnamdi Asomugha will sign a one-day contract with the team and retire on Friday.

It’s been really surprising to see how Asomugha’s career has gone since he departed for Philadelphia and a huge contract back in 2011. The Eagles paid gave him a five-year deal worth $60 million that included $25 million guaranteed, but he lasted just two season in Philly before being released.

This year, Asomugha signed a one-year deal with the 49ers, but was never able to carve out a role, even as a No. 3 cornerback and was subsequently released.

Asomugha, 32, finishes his career with 355 total tackles, 15 interceptions, 80 pass defenses, a forced fumble and one touchdown.
