Packers Moving Forward With James Starks As Their Primary RB

Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com writes that Green bay Packers are “committed to James Starks as their primary running back.”

The fact that they chose not to retain Ryan Grant during the offseason, suggests that it’s really his show now. The Packers have appear to have faith in 2011 third-round pick Alex Green and undrafted free agent Brandon Saine, but clearly Starks is their guy.

“He’s a young raw guy that needs to play,” said coach Mike McCarthy. “If he can stay healthy, I think he’ll make a significant jump as a player.”
