Packers Sign QB Matt Blanchard

The Green Bay Packers have signed QB Matt Blanchard to a contract, according to his agent Paul Sheehy.

In case there was some question as to whether or not the Packers could possibly re-sign QB Matt Flynn, this move would indicate that the team has no plans to re-sign him for training camp.

Blanchard, 26, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin-Whitewater back in May of 2012. He spent his first year on the team’s practice before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season.

The Panthers later signed him to a future/reserve contract in January of last year, but he was placed on waivers in December.

During his time at Wisconsin-Whitewater, he led the team to three Division III national titles.

Blanchard has yet to appear in an NFL game.
