Packers Waive WR Jared Abbrederis From I.R. With Settlement

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that the Packers have waived WR Jared Abbrederis from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday.

  • Silverstein adds that Abbrederis’ Packers’ career is now over.

The Packers promoted Geronimo Allison to their active roster, so it appears as though they want to see what he can do with the opportunity moving forward.

It’s possible that Abbrederis could be claimed off of waivers.

Abbrederis, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Packers back in 2014. He’s currently in the second year of his three-year, $1.575 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

Green Bay placed him on injured reserve earlier in the week with a thigh contusion to free up a roster spot.

In 2016, Abbrederis has appeared in five games and caught one pass for eight yards and no touchdowns for the Packers.
