Panthers Cut 8 Players Including Veteran OT Tony Hills

The Carolina Panthers announced the release of eight players on Saturday including veteran OT Tony Hills.

The Panthers also parted ways with WR Paul Browning, WR Avius Capers, DE Steve Miller, LB Kevin Reddick, TE Dallas Walker, FB Lee Ward and P Matt Wile.

Hills, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2008. He spent two years in Pittsburgh before brief stops with the Broncos, Colts, Bills, Raiders, Dolphins and Cowboys.

The Panthers signed him to a contract back in July to bolster their offensive tackle depth for training camp.

Last year, Hills appeared in three games for the Cowboys, but played a total of five snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

Reddick, 24, signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina back in 2013. He had brief stints with the Rams and Chargers before joining the Panthers back in October of last year.
