Panthers G Amini Silatolu Undergoing Surgery For Torn Meniscus

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that G Amini Silatolu has a torn meniscus in his left knee and is scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday.

Silatolu is expected to miss multiple weeks following the procedure.

Panthers head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion said that Silatolu “will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.”

Silatolu, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Panthers before signing on with the Bears a few years ago.

Silatolu lasted just a few months in Chicago before he was released at the start of the 2016 season and re-signed by the Panthers. Carolina brought him back on one-year deals each of the past two seasons.

In 2017, Silatolu appeared in 14 games for the Panthers and played a total of 247 snaps.
