Davis knocked Adams out of the game after Aaron Rodgers threw an interception and he turned to block Adams, but wound up hitting him helmet-to-helmet.
Davis, 34, is a former first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2005. He was in the final year of his three-year, $18 million contract that includes $11.5 million guaranteed when he and the Panthers agreed to a one-year, $6.75 million extension through 2018.
In 2017, Davis has appeared in 14 games and recorded 66 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 25 linebacker out of 92 qualifying players.
