Panthers Place Eight Players On COVID-19 List

The Panthers announced they have placed eight players on the COVID-19 list.

The full list includes:

  1. WR D.J. Moore
  2. WR Curtis Samuel
  3. DT Derrick Brown
  4. LB Shaq Thompson
  5. DT Zach Kerr
  6. OT Greg Little
  7. P Michael Palardy
  8. WR Ishmael Hyman

Reports had indicated this weekend that two Panthers players had tested positive for the virus. The other players here could be close contacts and eligible to come off the list after five days of continued negative tests.

Because of privacy laws, the NFL and teams typically don’t disclose the names of players who have tested positive as opposed to those who are close contacts.

The Panthers are coming off their bye week and are scheduled to play the Broncos in Week 14.

The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.

Moore, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $11,171,316 contract with Carolina.

The Panthers have a fifth-year option to pick up on Moore in 2021.

In 2020 Moore has appeared in 12 games for the Panthers and caught 50 passes for 924 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He has also rushed for 21 yards.

We’ll have more on the Panthers as the news is available.
