Panthers Re-Sign K Joey Slye To One-Year Extension

The Panthers announced on Thursday they have re-signed K Joey Slye to a one-year extension.

Slye was slated to be an exclusive rights free agent this offseason.

Slye, 23, signed with the Giants after going undrafted out of Virginia Tech following the 2019 NFL Draft. He was waived in May before being brought back in July and waived again.

Slye caught on with the Panthers in August as a camp leg but ended up taking the starting job after K Graham Gano landed on injured reserve.

In 2019, Slye made 25/32 field goal attempts (78.1 percent), including going 8/11 on kicks of 50 yards and longer. Slye also made 31/35 extra point attempts.
