Panthers Sign TE Bryce Williams, Waive/Injured S Travell Dixon

The Carolina Panthers have signed TE Bryce Williams to a contract on Thursday and waived S Travell Dixon with an injury designation.

Williams, 24, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina back in May of last year. He was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Rams’ practice squad.

The Rams elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract this past January before cutting him loose shortly after this year’s draft. Williams signed on with the Seahawks a week later but was cut loose a few months ago.

During his college career, Williams caught 96 passes for 1,040 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns over the course of 33 games.
