Panthers In Talks With CB Ladarius Gunter About Return

According to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers are in talks to bring back free agent CB Ladarius Gunter after Bashaud Breeland recently failed his physical.

Person adds that the Panthers are still expected to explore the remaining free agent cornerback options.

This is the first reported interest in Gunter since the free agent market officially opened.

Gunter, 26, signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2015. He was waived last September and later claimed off of waivers by the Panthers.

Gunter played out the final year of a three-year, $1.58 million contract and made a base salary of $615,000 this season. However, Carolina declined to tender him a restricted offer in recent weeks and he’s now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Gunter was active for five games, but didn’t record a statistic.
