The Carolina Panthers officially waived DB Lou Young on Monday to make room for TE Chris Manhertz, who was claimed off of waivers from the Saints.
Young, 25, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few months in Denver before he was waived during the final week of the preseason.
After brief stints with the Ravens and Jaguars, Young signed a future/reserve contract with the Panthers last year but has been among their final roster cuts in each of the past two seasons. He signed on to the Panthers’ practice squad recently before being promoted to their active roster this past weekend.
This season, Young has been active for one game but has yet to record a statistic.
