Panthers Worked Out Former First-Round WR Jon Baldwin

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Panthers worked out former Chiefs first-round pick WR Jon Baldwin on Tuesday.

This is the first reported interest in him since October of last year.

Baldwin, 26, lasted two years with the Chiefs before he was traded to the 49ers in return for fellow first-round pick A.J. Jenkins in 2013. However, Baldwin lasted just a year in San Francisco before he was waived at the beginning of August.

Detroit claimed him off of waivers, but he only spent a few days with them before he was once again waived with a failed physical designation.

In 2013, Baldwin appeared in seven games and caught three passes for 28 yards and no touchdowns.

  1. Dave Gettleman NEVER stops looking.
Baldwin is big, fast and has great hands. He also runs sloppy routes and is kinda indifferent about run blocking. Unless he has suddenly developed enthusiasm for the game, he won’t last long on Coach Rivera’s team.
