Patriots Concerned RB Stevan Ridley May Have A Torn ACL

Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that the Patriots fear RB Stevan Ridley suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s win over the Buffalo Bills.

  • Breer adds that Ridley does in fact have a knee injury and he’ll undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

You have to feel for Ridley as he’s in the final year of his rookie contract and will be an unrestricted free agent next year. A major knee injury would clearly have a big impact on his market.

Ridley finished the game with 10 carries, which actually led the team. With Ridley likely to miss extended time, it would make sense for Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden to handle the workload moving forward, but there is a chance that rookie RB James White could be worked in the mix as well.

We’ll have more updates regarding Ridley’s injury as the news is available.
