Patriots First-Round OL Isaiah Wynn Carted Off With Ankle Injury

Based on video of the play, former NFL physician David Chao says the concern for Patriots rookie OL Isaiah Wynn is that he may have a left Achilles tendon rupture, which would end his 2018 season.


Patriots first-round OL Isaiah Wynn was carted off during Thursday’s preseason game with an ankle injury.

Wynn, 22, was taken with the No. 23 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Patriots. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a four-year, $11,577,192 contract that includes a $6,499,776 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Patriots to pick up in 2021.

During his three-year college career at Georgia, Wynn was named to the preseason Second-Team All-SEC in 2017 and the Coaches’ Preseason Second-Team All-SEC last year.
