Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe reports that the Patriots would like to get free agent CB Aqib Talib locked up “soon.”
Bedard adds that even if they’re able to retain Talib, they could still target other free agent cornerbacks such as: Keenan Lewis, Nnamdi Asomugha, Derek Cox, Quentin Jammer, Antoine Cason, Chris Houston and Cary Williams.

Greg Bedard also writes that he believes free agent WR Wes Welker will be back with the Patriots next season.
Peter King of SI.com also mentioned earlier in the day that Welker “widely believed to be staying in New England.”
