Patriots Placing First-Round WR N’Keal Harry On IR

Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are placing first-round WR N’Keal Harry on injured reserve Monday with an ankle injury.

Recent reports mentioned that injured reserve was a possibility to watch for Harry, given the injury and the fact that he didn’t appear to be comfortable in practice.

Harry will now miss the first eight games of the season before the Patriots can designate him as one of their two players to return.

Harry, 21, was the No. 32 overall pick by the Patriots out of Arizona State. He signed a four-year, $10,265,750 rookie contract with the Patriots that included a $5,486,000 signing bonus.

The Patriots will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Harry at a later time.

Harry played three years for Arizona State.  Over his career, he caught 213 passes for 2889 yards (13.6 YPC) and 22 touchdowns.  His senior year he also returned 9 punts at a 16.9 average with one touchdown.
