Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Patriots are placing OT Yodny Cajuste on injured reserve.
According to Doug Kyed, Cajuste’s knee injury is not considered season-ending.
This could be the roster move needed for the Patriots to free up a roster spot for one of the two kickers on their practice squad.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Cajuste, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2019. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $3.5 million contract.
In 2019, Cajuste was placed on the non-football injury list with a quad issue and missed the entire season.
