According to Adam Schefter, the University of Arizona has hired Patriots QB coach Jedd Fisch as its next head coach.
The move leaves New England down an assistant while marking a major step up for Fisch.
Fisch, 44, began his NFL coaching career with the Texans back in 2001 as their defensive quality control coach. He had brief stints with the Ravens, Broncos and Seahawks before being hired by the Jaguars as their offensive coordinator back in 2013.
After two seasons in Jacksonville, he was hired and later took a position at the University of Michigan as their QBs/WRs coach. UCLA would later hire him as their offensive coordinator/QBs coach before he took over for Jim Mora Jr in 2017.
The Rams hired Fisch as a senior offensive assistant in 2018 and promoted him to assistant coordinator/offense last year. He was hired by the Patriots as a QB coach this past season.
