Patriots Restructure RT Marcus Cannon’s Contract

Mike Silver of NFL Media reports that the Patriots have restructured the contract of RT Marcus Cannon, guaranteeing $4.5 million of his 2019 compensation.

Silver adds that Cannon’s restructured deal includes added incentives that could boost the total value of his contract to $24 million.

Cannon, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He was in the final year of his three-year, $9 million contract when the Patriots signed him to a five-year extension worth $32.5 million and included $14.5M guaranteed.

In 2018, Cannon appeared in 13 games, making 13 starts for the Patriots. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 26 tackle out of 80 qualifying players last year.
